Need Help Choosing?

If you are shopping for individual health coverage, you will likely run into two very different products: ACA Marketplace plans and short-term medical plans. They serve different purposes – and choosing wrong can be costly.

ACA Marketplace Plans

ACA plans cover the ten essential health benefits, cannot deny you for pre-existing conditions, and cap your annual out-of-pocket costs. Premium subsidies can dramatically lower your monthly payment depending on household income. Enrollment is limited to Open Enrollment (November 1 – January 15) or a Special Enrollment Period.

Short-Term Health Insurance

Short-term plans offer fast, flexible, budget-friendly protection for coverage gaps – between jobs, waiting for employer benefits, or just before Medicare. Premiums are typically lower, but plans can decline applicants, exclude pre-existing conditions, and do not have to cover essentials like maternity or mental health care.

Which Should You Choose?

If you qualify for subsidies or have ongoing health needs, an ACA plan is almost always the better value. If you are healthy and need temporary protection against the unexpected, a short-term plan can bridge the gap affordably. We can quote both in minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some do, many do not. Always read the benefit summary carefully before enrolling.
